Claires Accessories - Liquid Metal in Teal

I found myself visiting Clare's Accessories today. I can't say that this was my first visit since I was a kid. I find myself popping in for nostalgia purposes every so often. I was a total body glitter/wash out hairspray pre teen so I'll always hold Claire's in my heart (bar a pretty unhappy month long employment there when I was a 17 year old) but I regress.

Obviously I dived straight towards the nail polish stand (I am a girl possessed) to find that all of their nail polish is on promotion and is currently £2.00 per bottle (regardless of type!) It would have been rude not to, right? I picked out "Iced Donut" (that name!) because it stood out as something that I can confidently say that I DO NOT have a dupe of at home. It's like a pastel neon yellow. Is pastel neon even a thing? Somewhat soft but still super vivid. The packaging also tells me that this guy is scented. I don't really get that scented polish hype. I tend to sandwich my polish in with a super thick top coat which kind of defeats the point of a scented polish. Review to come after this has been trialled!

On a whim, I picked up "Teal" in the Liquid Metal range. I've seen the new Models Own foil polishes, and although they looked interesting, I couldn't help but wonder if thy were a basic metallic polish in a really cool bottle. So, I picked this up, expecting it to be something that I try once and then chuck into my train case of death (a place where old and unwanted polishes go to die) It's actually pretty bloody good! The polish actually does have a "liquid metal" like texture and is highly pigmented. Weirdly enough, it looks like a matte metallic and that's what gives it the cool effect. This is where I went wrong and put on my Barielle UV Glaze Top Cot, which unfortunately ruined the effect and now it just looks like a green metallic but without the highy concentrated matte metal look. I'm still a fan, nonetheless, and I will definitely give more attention to Claires when I shop around for polish.
